Mrs. Rubchinuk’s afternoon class sings and acts out the “Build A House” song originally recorded by the Parachute Express. They created their own tools as part of the carpentry theme and have learned to use real tools as they develop those important fine-motor and eye-hand coordination skills in a fun way!

Girl Scout Mural
Erin Bergeron, Adriana DeFilippis, and Grace McDonnell of Girl Scout Troop 60517 presented their Bronze Award project to Mrs. Boulanger and Howe-Manning School on September 25th. They chose to portray an anti-bullying and inspirational theme in a mural to be hung on a wall in the school, with hopes that everyone who looks at it will be inspired to take a stand against bullying. Their mural project was accepted by the Girls Scout Council Office, and the girls have been awarded the Bronze star, which is the highest possible award that can be earned as a Junior Girl Scout. Erin, Adriana, and Grace are now Cadette Girl Scouts.

Ms. Brown's Bistro - 4th Grade students
Fourth Graders in Mr. Husson and Mrs. Church's room used a variety of strategies and methods to practice rounding and front end estimation as well as applying their knowledge of prime and composite numbers. Students using the IXL computer program worked on specific skills that were assigned to them based on individual student needs identified from a recent assessment. Through a restaurant theme, Brown's Bistro, students worked on a "menu of items" related to the topics above. The menu included appetizers (easy warm up problems ), main courses (more difficult problems), and desserts (enrichment activities).
