Water Bottle Project - Grade 6
Sixth grade students in
Mrs. Baker's, Ms. Clemenzi's, and Mrs. Swanson's classes worked collaboratively
on a project-based lesson titled, "Should we stop using disposable water
bottles?" Student groups researched four areas to focus on.
These included health risks, pollution, how is the water inside affected, and
how bottles are made. Some students compared tap water to bottled water
and discovered that 59% of bottled water is simply tap water. Did you
know that only one out of six disposable water bottles gets recycled?
That means that five out of six plastic water bottles ends up in our
landfills, waterways, and oceans.
