Grade 3 Howe-Manning Gardens
Third graders planted bulbs in several of the Howe Manning gardens. Daffodils, tulips and other spring flowers have begun to bloom.
4th grade Biography Stamp Project
Combining our opinion writing unit and study of informational
text: autobiographies and biographies, 4th grade students participated in the Biography Stamp Project. Each
student researched a person of their choice using books and technology with a
focus on learning about their individuals' accomplishments, challenges, and
inspiring personality traits. They then wrote 5 paragraph essays/letters to The
Stamp Advisory Committee of the U.S. Postal Service recommending that their
person be featured on a postage stamp. They also designed stamps to
represent their subject. All of their hard work was displayed at a Living
Museum for the third graders, where students dressed as their person of choice
and gave short oral presentations.

2014 Kid 2 Kid Program
6th Graders wrote and performed skits related to bullying for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade at the Fuller Meadow School. The skits demonstrated what a bullying situation might look like at school and then how this same scenario could have been handled in a better way. Thank you to the sixth grade Kid2Kid group and to Mrs. Swanson and Mrs. McCarthy for leading the group. Students will perform for the third through fifth graders at Howe Manning on Thursday, May 1st.
