Iditarod Program 2012

Grade 4 enjoyed the wonderful Iditarod Program this year.  Thank you Fuller Meadow for the use of your field.

Color Week 2012

The week before vacation was “color week” to promote healthy eating.  Students and staff enjoyed tasty, colorful fruits and vegetables in the lunchroom and staff lounge.  Mr. Pascucci’s class got into the spirit and dressed in the colors of the day.

Dash Program

Third graders learned about hearing impairments in DASH classes this week and last.  Children learned about assisted hearing devices and causes of hearing impairments.  They also learned about decibels.  Group leaders provided students with benchmark decibel numbers such as that of a helicopter and then challenged students to place a variety of sounds such as falling rain on the decibel meter.

Kid 2 Kid Program, School Presentation

We are grateful to Mrs. Lanfranchi, Mrs. Tirrusa and the sixth grade Kid 2 Kid group for writing and performing grade appropriate skits to highlight the harmful effects of bullying.
The students first presented the scenario without bystander intervention and then how the situation could be altered when bystanders “said something”.  Creating and presenting these skits took a great deal of time and creativity and we thank the Kid 2 Kid children and adult leaders for promoting this positive message.
