Howe Manning students and staff honored our Veterans in a ceremony held Friday afternoon, on November 9th.
Sixth grade teacher, Nancy Jones, has organized the Howe Manning Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day ceremonies for many years. She also organizes the donation of items to be sent to soldiers serving in the military overseas. Students donated over 20 boxes filled with cards, toiletries and candy to send to our service men and women.
Nancy Jones was presented with two awards: Dept of Massachusetts, John J. Mulhern Educator of the Year by the American Legion and also a State Senate citation in recognition of her work with the American Legion.
Members of Operation Troop support came to the ceremony to accept the donations.
